News $90,500  Median salary for sofware developer The Secrets to Employee Engagement Determination and confdence in reaching work goals is the top employee engagement aspect according to the Society for Human Resource Management. The top fve engagement drivers include relationships, opportunities to grow, contribution to goals and effort. EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT ASPECTS A new report indicates that while women still only make up 31 percent of the I.T. workforce, this year has marked some notable job growth for women in the feld. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, 46 percent of new tech positions have been awarded to women since the start of 2013. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for all tech professionals was 3.5 percent in the frst quarter, compared to 7.7 percent for the overall U.S. workforce. The last time unemployment for I.T. professionals was above the national average was the frst quarter of 2004. Technology consulting continues to dominate the job growth in I.T., with more than 17,000 new positions added since the start of 2013. But other areas, including manufacturing, data processing and hosting, continued to lose jobs since the start of the year. Several other jobs had unemployment rates below the national average for I.T., including Web developers (1.0 percent), network architects (1.7 percent), software developers (2.2 percent) and database administrators (2.8 percent). SARAH STEPHENS, an acknowledged information services expert and most recently chief knowledge offcer of Sutherland LLP, has joined LAC Group's consulting team to deliver library research, expense, and collection management strategies to its growing roster of leading law frms. She will work with clients to redefne informa- tion services, collections, and space, bringing additional value to their parent organizations. Stephens will be located in the Washington, D.C., metro area but will advise LAC clients worldwide. Assuming the corporate leadership roles at E-Learning Mind are Capas executives ANDREW FAYAD as CEO and managing partner, and SIMON CASUTO as president and managing partner. The company's new director of e-learning and former ELearning Mind CEO is Jack Mahklouf. Prior to E-Learning Mind, Fayad and Casuto were colleagues at S&P; Capital IQ. Fayad also led corporate member development at Axial Inc.
