News Adds Trio Elearning! and Government Elearning! magazines have appointed Joe DiDonato as editor-at-large, Tim Martin as director of business development, and Stephanie Selesnick as events brand manager. Formerly a strategic management consultant and chief learning officer in the e-learning trade, DiDonato has written many industry research reports and articles and hosted seminars, conferences and topical blogs. He will contribute expertise and analysis on trends impacting the world of cor- porate and organizational education to the magazines. "The Elearning! Media Group not only understands learn- ing, but their editorials and coverage continue to challenge the industry to think in new ways when it comes to enter- prise learning," says DiDonato. Martin formerly directed and consulted with companies such as the eLearning Guild and Allen Interactions. "I've had a chance to see Tim's impressive and excellent work. He has strong, clear vision on projects, design, imple- mentation and follow-up," says Mark Wojcik of the John Marshall Law School. SUCCESSFACTORS, INC., has entered into definitive agree- ments to acquire Plateau and Jambok. Plateau markets a leading learning management sys- tem, a next-generation portal technology, and content as a service. This latest acquisition forms a symbiotic combina- tion with SuccessFactors' acquisition of social video mobile learning provider 10 May / June 2011 Jambok. Customers will now have the ability to further increase employee development and business execution by implementing a comprehen- sive social and traditional learning strategy that includes evangelizing inter- nal experts, utilizing easy- to-use video creation and sharing tools, as well as managing, developing, and deploying online, instructor- led and self-study training. CORNERSTONE ONDEMAND, INC., priced its initial public offering of 10,500,000 shares of its common stock at $13 per share. The common stock began trading on March 17th on the NASDAQ Global Market under the symbol "CSOD." Cornerstone OnDemand offered 7,500,000 shares of common stock, and certain selling stockholders offered 3,000,000 shares of common stock. UNISYS became the 300th customer of CodeBaby Studio 4.1, which empowers users to create and integrate engaging 3-D CodeBaby characters into e-learning courseware. The G4S program draws from eCornell's catalog of more than 125 online course titles. XYLEME, INC., AND COMTECH are partnering to provide organizations sin- gle-source development strategies for the cost- effective deployment of learning content to multiple delivery modalities and devices. Xyleme's partner- ship with Comtech aims to provide a framework and set of best practices for content development and reuse that will maximize the success of these multiple learning programs. I.T. Degrees Are Lauded As unemployment numbers remain high, a recent study by Yahoo! Education named a degree in information systems as the sixth best-degree for job security and good pay. As technology becomes a part of the funda- mental infrastructure of modern business, more compa- nies are increasingly relying on information systems to gather data and communicate internally and externally. While there are no guarantees in today's job market, reports found that one of the biggest employment nich- es is for computer and information professionals. The Department of Labor forecasts a 17 percent surge in jobs for information systems managers through 2018, and a degree in information systems clearly out-per- forms all others. Elearning!
