BEST OF Best Leadership Development Program Category Winner (tie): eCornell Leadership A s the domestic economy and international markets become more interdependent, the demand is increasing for professionals who are able to conduct business with knowledge of various economic, political and cultural nuances. eCornell ofers deep, rich curriculum through certifcate programs and individual courses authored by Ivy League faculty and subject-matter experts at the top of their felds. It assembles a formidable catalog of options in its business leadership training. Tere are a series of four leadership development training programs from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management and the School of Hotel Administration. Participants who successfully complete the courses within the program receive a certifcate from Cornell University. Courses in the Leadership and Strategic Management series are designed to enable mid- and senior-level managers and executives to think and plan strategically, optimize decision making, generate new ideas and identify opportunities for change. Students apply career experience to determine how to become an efective corporate leader and to build business management skills. Six certifcation programs comprise the leadership series: "High-Performance Leadership," "Change Leadership," "Executive Leadership," "Management Reporting Systems and Strategies," "Achieving Competitive Advantage" and "Managing for Execution." In the fall of 2002, eCornell signed its frst corporate contracts. More than 20 companies agreed to participate in a pilot program of courses and receive survey data on student satisfaction and performance. On March 3, 2009, eCornell formally announced its new brand identity, logo, and website. Today, the company is overseen by a seven-person board of directors, including president and CEO Chris Proulx.
