Magazine Group, which includes Elearning! and Government Elearning! magazines, executed a 49-question web-based survey of executives from corporate business, government and educational institutions. During the data collection period of February 1 through March 15, 2013, participants were contacted through an email invitation with an embedded URL link to take the online survey. Elearning! and Government Elearning! magazines compiled and tabulated the results of more than 600 respondents. Approximately 400 of the respondents were engaged in the private sector, 200 in the public sector. Management titles accounted for 62% of the responses in 2013. Thirty-eight percent of respondents were non-management versus 36% in 2011. Thirty percent were in senior leadership roles of CEO and executive vice presidents. Sixty-fve percent of respondents serve in the HR, talent or training function. Twenty-seven percent lead business unit functions across IT, sales, manufacturing or operations. In the public sector, respondents heralded from organizations of all sizes. Management titles accounted for 60% of responses versus 46% in 2012. Executive management accounted for 35% of responses, general management accounted for 25% of respondents.
